Wow. What a cake. So incredible to look at and tasted even better. Scrumptious. My 83 year old Mum declared it ‘the tastiest and most spectacular birthday cake she’s ever had! ‘ The layers of sponge were so light and fluffy, the raspberry cream, fresh and delicious and the chocolate hearts!! Makes my mouth water even now. The creamy layer with the lychees and the next with a subtle fruity jelly were a surprise and a delicious textural delight. Real lychees, ( what the …) Mums fave, they just topped off the magic. Would 100 % order again.
Great size for the 8 of us, with about 1/4 left over. I do know that a few slices were devoured at midnight and again for breakfast. Always the sign of an outstanding cake in our family.
