❓ How early should I place my order? Is next-day delivery possible?
We recommend ordering 2–3 days in advance to secure your spot. But if you're in a rush, just place your order before 11pm — most cakes can be delivered the next day, unless otherwise noted on the product page.
🕐 Can I choose a specific delivery time?
We can’t guarantee an exact time slot. Our cakes are freshly made in the morning and delivered in the afternoon — most orders arrive between 12pm and 4pm on your selected day.
🎁 Will the recipient see the price or invoice?
No — we never include pricing or invoices in the box. Just a sweet surprise, delivered beautifully. If you need a tax invoice, feel free to email us and we’ll send one through.
✍️ Can I include a message with the cake?
Yes! When you add our Birthday Set, or tick "It’s for a birthday" during checkout, you’ll have the option to write a short message — we’ll hand-pipe it onto a chocolate plaque.
Tip: Short messages work best, like “Happy Birthday Jane” or “Love You Always 💛”
What if my message is too long?
If your message doesn’t fit on the plaque, we’ll print it as a card and include it with your order — just leave it in the notes section during checkout.
🧊 How long can the cake stay outside after delivery?
Australian weather can be unpredictable — that’s why every cake comes in our custom cooler bag with an ice brick to keep it chilled for hours. Still, we recommend bringing the cake inside as soon as possible to keep it at its best.
🌱 Do you offer vegan / nut-free / gluten-free cakes?
Some of our cakes are suitable for specific dietary needs — just check the icons on each product page. That said, all our cakes are made in an environment where allergens like nuts, gluten, and dairy are present, so we can’t guarantee they’re completely allergy-safe.
🔁 Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?
Yes — just email us at hello@sambakinghigh.com.au at least 48 hours before your delivery date, and we’ll help you change or cancel your order.
🚪 What if no one is home when the cake arrives?
Don’t worry — our driver will leave the cake in the safest spot possible at your door. It’ll be kept chilled in our cooler bag, and a photo of the delivery will be uploaded to your live tracking message. That said, we recommend bringing it inside as soon as possible.
📅 Can I choose my delivery date?
Yes! You can select your preferred delivery date during checkout. Planning ahead for someone’s birthday? Pick the date, leave the rest to us — one less thing to worry about.
🧾 I’m ordering a birthday cake for someone at work — can you provide a tax invoice?
Absolutely. Just email us at hello@sambakinghigh.com.au with your order number, and we’ll send through a proper invoice for your company.
🏢 Do you deliver to apartments? What if there’s no one at reception?
We send a live tracking message on the day so you know when to expect the delivery. If no one is available, our driver will leave the cake at reception or in the mailroom whenever possible, and upload a photo to your tracking link for peace of mind.
🎂 Can I pick up instead of delivery?
Yes, we do offer pick-up. Once your cake is ready, we’ll send you a pick-up notification. Our bakers start early to make the cakes fresh, so we recommend coming earlier in the day.
💬 What if something goes wrong with my cake?
If anything’s not right — damaged cake, wrong item, delivery issue — just contact us as soon as possible. We’ll do our best to make it right.
🚚 Do you deliver to all of Melbourne?
We deliver to most metro Melbourne suburbs — including inner, east, southeast, west and parts of the north. If you're unsure, just start the checkout process and enter your postcode — we’ll let you know right away. And if you're just outside our zone, send us a message — we’ll try to help!
⏱️ When will I get tracking info or delivery updates?
We usually send live tracking messages around lunchtime on the day of delivery. During busy festive periods, we sometimes start earlier — so you might hear from us in the morning too.
👰 Do you do wedding cakes or large custom orders?
Yes — we’ve made plenty of wedding cakes and large-scale custom creations. Availability is limited, so please email us at hello@sambakinghigh.com.au with the date and details, and we’ll be in touch.
🏥 Do you deliver to hospitals, schools, or workplaces?
Yes — we often deliver to offices, schools and hospitals. Just be sure to leave clear delivery instructions (like ward, level, or reception name) during checkout.
